Adapted from 'The Edinburgh Journal of Natural History and of the Physical Sciences, with the Animal Kingdom of the Baron Cuvier' (1835). This volume presents a translation from the French of George Cuvier' influential 1817 publication, Le Règne Animal. Cuvier's work helped to establish the study of comparative anatomy and paleontology setting the ground for Darwin to develop his theory of evolution later in the century.
